All available prints are done professionally by Bay Photo Lab, and are shipped directly to your address. The price for each print has shipping costs and crate fees (for larger sizes) already factored in so there are no extra charges. Regardless of size, each print will come with a 3/4” inset frame with a wire hanger, making it easier to mount. In addition, the print will have a premium Mid-Gloss Coating. Most metal prints commonly have a Gloss Coating, which tends to pick up undesired glare and reflections. The included Mid-Gloss Coating is nearly as resistant as a Matte Coating, but also retains the same level of vibrance and contrast as a full Gloss Coating.

Tumalo Winter:

There is more than just the waterfall in Tumalo Falls area. It’s one of my favorite places to go because it’s local and it has plenty of photo opportunities aside from the waterfall itself. Tumalo Falls is arguably one the most photographed locations in Central Oregon. The challenge is to offer something different. This photograph was actually taken upstream of Tumalo Falls. There is a trail that has several waterfalls worth seeing that don’t get the same attention as Tumalo Falls does. In the winter time, it’s a challenge to get back there, even with snow shoes. This photograph was taken during a very prolonged cold spell during a 103-year-record-breaking month for snowfall. The weather conditions made some interesting photograph opportunities. Tumalo Creek actually began to freeze over. By the way, Tumalo Creek is the watershed for the City of Bend.

It’s amazing how winter conditions can transform a landscape. Things that aren’t particularly interesting in the summer suddenly have a unique appeal to them. This is certainly the case here, as this not a large waterfall. Most hikers won’t even not notice it in the summertime, but in this moment, it’s beautiful. Rather than the grand scale of Tumalo Falls. This image is all about details. The textures in the snow and the ice hanging from the rock. Having these sharp textures being split apart by the flowing water that has been smoothed out by the long exposure gives it even more contrast.
